Wow, times flies! Between my Birthday, traveling and work I can’t believe we are already into May! Last month I had a little spa day with some girlfriends at the Four Seasons newly renovated Spa in Downtown Houston (also great Mother’s Day gift idea FYI!). Last spring, the Hotel debuted its fourth floor Spa & Fitness Center, which includes three newly built treatment rooms, a relaxation room, a couples’ suite, a nail bar and top-of-the-line treatments. We indulged in some deep tissue massages and much-needed girl time. Especially since my one friend Tiffany was moving to NYC within the month! The spa has a very private and thus calming effect. After changing into our robes waited in the “waiting/relaxation” area. The waiting room is dimly lit and stocked with refreshments, snacks and coffee. It’s such a tranquil setting that you can easily take a little nap and chill before (or after) your appointment if you need the extra relaxation. I opted for a 50-minute massage, which I felt was sufficient amount of time to work out my tight shoulders and upper back from all the computer and phone work. I almost didn’t realize how badly I was in need of this deep tissue massage until the fact. I used to think I needed them more when I was dancing full time, but I think it’s just as important with all the desk work I do now as it was then.
After our treatments, we changed into our swimwear headed out to the pool deck. We sat by the pool, sunbathed and little and snacked. After our time in the sun, we headed to the steam room for a final fifteen minutes of relaxation for the day.
