This season fashion girls all over Houston are being spotted decorating their wrists, ear lobes and decollates with unique statement pieces from Houston local design house Zayver Jewels. Spotted on models and bloggers at various events around town and featured online in Houstonia Magazine there is nothing “local” about Zayver Jewels. Founder and designer Bela Thacker is an experienced traveller, jewel cultivator and PhD holder whose worldly perspective and academia come through in her designs. Each collection embodies a spirit of culture in the modern world with the combination of both traditional and modern pieces in each collection.
Zayver Jewels pieces are finely crafted with semi-precious stones, crystals, brass, silver, and gold plating. The pieces are manufactured in North America, Europe, and India. One of my favorite things about Zayver Jewels is how each collection is given a limited run and is purposefully not mass produced and distributed. This means clients have the opportunity to own rare designs in exclusivity. This process aligns with Bela’s vision of Zayver Jewels being a provider of works of art and not just jewelry.
Designer Bela Thacker is not afraid to collaborate with other designers. Such collaborations have attributed to Zayver Jewels range in designs from some couture pieces to ready-to-wear. The current fall collection plays with teal colors, gold links and semi-precious stones set in elegant-boho designs. My favorite of the new collection is the gold cuff with the black stone [see gallery below].
