Not really the “gift guide” I want to bring you during the joyous Holiday Season but the reality is that crime seems to soar during this time of year.
I have been sitting on this post since my friend’s car was broken into on Monday morning of this week. We were less than 100 meters away at a juice bar in a bougie part of town. On the short walk to her car, we discovered her window had been smashed and personal belongings were stolen from her car. We never heard a noise the whole time and it was only 10:30am! I always considered myself to be very diligent when it comes to my personal safety but sometimes being aware of your surroundings isn’t enough.
During the holiday’s I always hear caution warnings for women walking to their car alone at the Galleria Mall, packages are stolen from doorsteps, car break-ins.
So, since Monday I have been talking about all of these devices with my close girlfriends and family. I wanted to share the discussion with you as well. Personal safety is very much up to the individual. This post is in no way endorsing the use of these devices or that they are necessary but to share what I’m going through and let my female and male readers know that there are personal safety options out there if they so desire.
