Sweater Vests, Knit Vest, Gilet; What was once an identifier of the “nerdy/ bookish” uniform is back and having its own revenge on our wardrobes and aesthetics. The gilet is back to prove it is, in fact, a chic, preppy layer that needs to get in our closets ASAP.
My own high school uniform consisted of an “optional” sweater vest which while I found to be super cute and preppy, was more widely viewed as “not cool”.
Years later I am obsessed with this minimal & preppy Fall piece and I am waiting on the Florida weather & social life to be able wear it with chic nerdy pride.
